Htc 10 Randomly Turns Off and Cant Turn on Again
-
How-do-you-do guys,
I have a HTC x that has been restarting randomly, possibly averaging once a day or ii, over the final week or so.
The start few times it happened I didn't notice any link with the bombardment.
The last few times it happened, it couldn't restart considering the battery was nearly at nada, even though information technology was well to a higher place zippo a minute before. The logo would come up, then black screen, then logo, repeat repeat repeat until I plugged information technology in.
Here are a couple of screenshots of the battery history:
<blockquote grade="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="a/WiwrE"><a href="//imgur.com/a/WiwrE"></a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
And here:

Does it look similar my battery is shot to you?

I too have the same effect. My phone will boot loop when my battery goes beneath forty% and the only fashion I can finish information technology is to allow the battery completely drain downward or plug the phone into a charger.
I'yard getting anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours of screen on time but now. I hit the 2.5 hr mark if my phone permit's me bleed the battery to 10% or so. I use to go between 3 to three.5 hours but that all changed a few months ago.
Over at XDA there is a thread on this topic.

Same thing hither. Started a month ago. Once it gets below xl per centum information technology will close off and boot loop. The kickoff time information technology happened I had it plugged in overnight and notwithstanding wouldn't boot. Had to practise a factory reset. Happened once again last night, I was able to get it to cease by property the power and volume down button. However had to accuse it over an hr to get it to come up back on.
Besides that, my bombardment overall lasts about 6 hours max, almost 2.five hours if I'one thousand really using it.
I'yard worried because I still have half-dozen months left to pay to Verizon earlier I tin can become an upgrade.

For the OP, I'm thinking the battery is shot. Shutting downwardly at well in a higher place zero, and so coming back with it almost at zero, is a cardinal sign of it existence bad. You may likewise be seeing a need for longer charge times, which tin be another symptom (Though, this is also symptomatic of other issues likewise, similar a bad USB cable).
I've never seen a bootloop caused by a bombardment being low, merely unexpected full shutdowns without going through the shutdown process. That sounds like a software bug. If the folks at XDA are working on information technology, I'll defer to their wisdom on that.
And if you lot're but able to get 2.5 hrs when using your telephone, I again suspect the battery is getting rather weak. Unless this phone just has an undersized battery to brainstorm with, I would await at to the lowest degree 3+ hours even with solid gaming.

They all sound like a dendrite trouble. (A possible fix has finally been found, but it's probably going to take a few years earlier nosotros run into batteries using it. Until then, the only solution is replacing the battery. Since the battery is considered a consumable, it'southward usually non covered nether the warranty - just if the phone is nether warranty, you lot can try.)
See Lithium Battery Dendrite links for more data, specially this one about the solution.

Mine was starting to show the battery history graph incorrectly. I turn information technology off at nighttime and recharge information technology while off until a while subsequently the green LED comes on. Sometimes it was fine, but others it was simply showing around 75% when turned on, but the graph stayed flat until it got below that, so resumed a normal trace. It too didn't reset, but showed previous days. The actual battery life was withal OK.
I took it back to Carphone Warehouse (2 years old in April), who just re-installed the OS the first time, no better. On the 2nd return, I was expecting a replacement, merely they actually opened it upwards, put in a new battery and LCD (the square LED button no longer lit upwardly fully). Proficient as new now, and nicely timed for the Oreo update the 24-hour interval I got it back - working well apart from the horrid squircle binder icons! They did a good job, hardly any marks from opening information technology up. I suspect they destroy the LCD getting into information technology.
I rarely used the quick charger, which I think may cause others issues past shagging the battery earlier. I volition avoid quick charging information technology unless actually necessary. It's withal a great phone, which will hopefully at present last another year or 2.

So, I have an interesting update. Since I was out of warranty, I talked Verizon into letting me purchase a replacement HTC ten for 99 dollars. Got it in yesterday, didn't put the Sim card in as I wanted to download all my apps and allow them sync offset.
Well I merely had fourth dimension to literally turn it on and sign into my wifi. However, when I got home, it was turned off. Battery was completely dead, subsequently beingness full when I left. Last night, I let information technology charge to 100, and then turned information technology off. This morning, information technology's at 0 again. I again charged it to 100, turned it off, and an hour later it's at threescore percentage, and once again it's off.
And so I don't know if I only got a dud replacement or what, but this is obviously non how this telephone should piece of work.
